Sofia Coppola's first film is full of mystery and tenderness. I remember not being too excited about the story as I was with the art direction and soundtrack (most of you will recognize Air's playground love song from it), which happens to be one of my favourites of the USA film industry. The bedroom's decoration is dreamy as well as the Lisbon sisters' clothing. Ruffles, lace, vintage, ruffles, lace, vintage, ruffles, lace, vintage: that's mostly its beauty.
La primera película de Sofía Coppola se caracteriza por un aura de ternura y misterio a la vez. Recuerdo no haber quedado impresionada a nivel narrativo cuando la vi por primera vez, mas sí puedo decir que en términos de dirección de arte y soundtrack (muchos reconocerán la canción 'playground love' de ahí) se convirtió rápidamente de mis producciones estadounidenses favoritas. Los espacios decorados cuidando que hasta en el más mínimo detalle reflejen la sutileza de las hermanas Lisbon y su vestuario, lleno de encaje, flores y prendas vintage: qué bonito.
