Guess who's back...

Look everyone! Coloured Bleu has changed its name and appearance. Well, actually I'm the responsible for that. I know I said the new name would contain the word 'mishmash', but in the end it didn't work well. I'm good at giving nicknames, but when it's about being serious, I really suck. So, this new name costed me a couple hours before sleeping for the last couple of days. I don't know if it's the greatest out there (I didn't mean it to be really), but I feel like it's more me. I've always been so far from being the bomb (even somehow some people seem to like me and my sense of humour) and as I'm usually attracted to extreme words, I'd rather call myself a nerd than a preppy party girl. Nerds, believe or not, have more fun when it comes to fashion, in my opinion, and there is my favourite all the time collection - SS 08 Luella (comics, oversized glasses, cardigans... what else could be smarter than that?) - to prove it. The fact is that I really like fashion, probably in a geeky, reasonable, sober-headed way (would never consider myself a shopaholic or anything like that). So yeah, that's basically the explanation behind Nerdy, pero trendy. By the way, pero (spanish) = but (english) = aber (deutsch).

Tell me your toughts on the new name, and of course, on the new layout. As i said before, Nerdy, pero trendy is not a different site or a new beginning, it's the same site, with the same energy and enthusiasm, but with a different tittle. That's it. I also wanna thank you all for your support comments, you're such great people and I 'm so glad to have you as daily visitors, I couldn't be luckier than this.

Here's a couple of pictures of me I took the other day (God save the timer!). I don't usually post close-ups of my face, but let's stop the pretentious posing and mystery and what the hell... here's me (ignore the glasses, I swear I didn't put them on to make the new site's name justice). Have a great new year's eve! I'll tell you about mine later (;

VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.

Here's the deal. I don't like the name of this site anymore and I want to change it. I'm thinking about doing it before 2009 starts if I have everything ready before Wednesday 31st. I'm going to change the URL in configuration, so I won't lose any of my previous entries, therefore that means 'colorizacion' won't exist anymore. I'm not sure of them name yet, but I bet it will contain the word mishmash, because my blog seems to be a mix of fashion related stuff (runway shows, indie designers, celebrities, etc) and I have to admit I am a mishmash myself.

I'd love you to help me on this. Moving is hard, usually people don't find you after that and then, tired of searching, forget about the site. I don't want that to happen. I'd love you to join me on the new site. If you're with me on this (as I reallyreallyreally hope you all are), then here's what we're going to do...

1. If you're not a blogger, you can leave me your e-mail address here in a comment and I'll be very happy to send you the new URL
2. You can also
bookmark my blogger profile so you'll be able to know where Coloured Bleu moved to.
3. If you're a blogger but not necessarily a regular commenter, it will be easier to let you know the new url, you can comment here too so I know you're interested.
4. If you're on my links, I'll make you know where I moved to for sure by leaving a comment at your site.

Thanks for all your support guys during the not very short life of Coloured Bleu. Don't worry, it won't be a new beginning, it'll be the same blog, with the same spirit and entusiasm, just with a more meaningful (and more fashion related) name to me.

Lots of love,
Aisha

The day after Christmas.

I don't really want to overextend my speech, so I'll try to be brief. I really hope you had a great time. Christmas is for Catholics a celebration that honors Jesus' birth. I can't say I have a religion, but somehow I believe in God (who is for me the idea of perfection and the answer to all the stuff that we, humans, can't explain yet) and good actions. For me, Christmas seems to be the perfect ocassion to share with our loved ones. That's what this time means for me, having great moments with my relatives and friends. I don't like the idea of Christmas that the media sells, actually I hate it, even when I can't avoid being a little involved in it as I usually buy presents. The idea of Christmas that media sells it's all about wasting large amounts of money on material stuff and I find that generates great inequity to the detriment of the ones who can't spend a lot of money on gifts. In one way, it was awesome because I knew I was going to have a great time with my parents, sister, cousins and aunts, people I really care about; but, in the other hand, it was sad because while I knew I was going to drink a good wine and eat turkey that same night (which I can't refuse and even if I did, that wouldn't solve anything of the said before), I saw kids, disabled and old people on the big avenues selling Santa beanies or candies and was conscious they wouldn't have my luck that night and that I must be grateful for every thing I've got.

I have not said all of this because I believe I have deeper thoughts than others. Not at all. I just wanted to let you know how lucky your position is on this world, because I don't think you're nearly close to being poor and have to work on the streets on Christmas eve, right?

Having said that, I hope you had a beautiful time.
Hope I didn't bore you, but encouraged you to make a change (I'm sure you'll find a way).

Six mini-dresses from Pixie Market.

They're all from Pixie market and they're the cutest little things I've seen in months. The first couple ones are sold out by now (I definitely can see why), but the other four are avaliable I believe.

Which one is your favourite?

I reallyreally want...

Kate's jeans, they're the perfect acid-washed pair. I can't seem to find a pair of those for me, wish my mom had kept a pair of these from her 80's days so I could hand them over.

Alex again.

I've mentioned Alexander Wang's work previously on this blog. In his Spring 2008 collection, which is (in my opinion) reallylreally good, He included the denim shorts which became one of the most popular items of the season. These shorts are not the usual ones, they're baggier and actually look like cut-offs made of boyfriend jeans. A couple celebrities have noticed how cool are those, yeah, I'm talking about Kate Moss & Taylor Momsen, who are the only celebrities who until these moment I've seen wearing a pair of them. Let's better check out the pictures now.

Which celebrity wore them better?

I also wanna thank Syd for the award she was very nice to give me the other day. It's a very interesting awards because it doesn't focus in the information I give people through this blog, but in the way I threat them.

Blogs who receive this award are 'exceedingly charming', says its authors. The award is a fine one because it focuses not on the glory and fanfare of blogging, but on the PROXIMITY to one another through this online-world. This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time, and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement!

The cobra snake isn't that bad actually...

Specially when it gives you inspiration on how to wear the next items:

Harem pants are in.

She's Shenae Grimes and I just learnt her name today. She's one of the stars from the new Beverly Hills, 90210. I don't really watch the show, because it's on TV (sony channel) by the same time Gossip girl is on Warner, but I couldn't not notice this outfit of hers when I saw the pictures on justjared web today. I like it, it's a good example of how to wear harem pants.

Examinations are over, I don't know about my grades yet, but I'm pretty sure everything went ok. I'm not doing much shopping really (1. I'm broke, 2. I told my parents to buy me the R.E.M. tickets as an early christmas gift, so I don't think I'm receiving stuff for christmas, which is okey because that was my decision). It reallyreally sucks not having any money of my own at this time when I need to get my hands on Iron maiden tickets and they're selling so fast (although they're coming next year on 26th march).

Finals.

Hey guys. Sorry for the lack of bloggage, I've been very busy, reading books and reviewing my notes. Examinations are just around the corner and I have to make a good performance. After that I'll be able to enjoy life without academic responsibilities until is March 2009 and uni starts again. See you in a week, I have some ideas for new posts.
