Bob Dylan.

Sí, el mismo que dijo All I can do is be me, whoever that is. Ah.

pd.

Bicycle portraits.

An interesting exploratory proyect on South African bicycle culture by Stan Engelbrecht Nic Grobler
"As you'll see we are not photographing people who ride purely for exercise or recreation, but instead we are focussing on those who use bicycles as an integral tool in their day-to-day existence."

1. Imágenes de Prenzlauerberg (Berlin) de aquí & aquí.
2. El segundo sexo de Simone de Beauvoir.
3. Esta noche veré Underground de Emir Kusturica.
4. The google art project.
7. Ilustraciones de Samantha Hahn
8. Encontré un blog de solo desayunos. Está bonito. Además todo se ve rico y saludable.

Armario: Diane Keaton en Annie Hall.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Luego vi Match point, tampoco me convenció.

I've had a love-hate relationship with Woody Allen. It's weird. Everyone loved Woody and I, as much as I try, just can't. I didn't have a good start with his work. The first two movies I saw from him were Vicky Cristina Barcelona & Match point and I didn't exactly enjoy them. Then I borrowed Manhattan on dvd and it made reconsider his work (loved that movie). I thought i could keep trying and watched Everything you always wanted to know about sex (but were afraid to ask) on TV and I hated it, it wasn't even a little funny. Yesterday I saw Annie Hall, because I had heard too much good stuff about it from my friends not to see it. It was good, but not too good. Woody Allen's character in it is one of his most annoying: boring, snobby, insecure, ugh ugh ugh. Diane Keaton, on the other hand, is such a sweetheart and she gets better as the story develops itself. Plus, her wardrobe is amazing, she just doesn't need tight sexy trendy stuff to look pretty and interesting.

All I need this summer.

My list for summer is simple, quite like a basic equipment that includes: The Vert by Roger & Gallet, funky glasses (those Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony are perfect), good music (specially the album A good kind of nervous -'97- by The Lucksmiths), a Pendleton Blanket so I can sit comfy on the grass, a pretty mini dress, a small and discrete notebook for writing my adventures, a 70s like floppy hat (the one feautres above is from ASOS) and if it's not a biggie, a cool bandana (and a couple lessons on how to knot it so it doesn't fall).

Tweed Toggle Coat by Carven.

Si estuviéramos a 10 °C, usaría este abrigo día y noche. Los broches de adelante son bellos.
If we were under 10 °C, I'd totally wear this coat. The horn & rope toggles are the best part of it.

Ideas sueltas (Loose ideas).

Walking on heels (22 hours standing on them, worst decision for such a busy day like yesterday). Going to the supermarket and paying with a card that is no longer your parent's. Making breakfeast for your mother the next morning (because besides being today her birthday, it would be a cute detail to get a smile from anyone you love). Noting how things change (or how you change them) in such little time and wishing this adventure (also known as life) to continue. Curiosity kills (me).

Inspiration: Three cds.

Over the last months, this blog has turned into a celebration of simplicity and it's just not just a fashion blog anymore. Watching others speak about the industry, reading about art and design and reflecting has made me realize that we should give a damn about rules and all that crap. We should just mix, play and have fun, like when we were children. Style is more a word of my preference. Style, to me, is an appropriation* of the garmets and concepts we find in the industry (seasons don't really matter) and in diverse cultures. Also, Jim Jarmusch has been a very influential person in my approach to fashion: in order to develop an style, let's devour everything with excitement (books, magazines, cds, films, photographs). Following that, here you have three cds I've listening a lot these days.

Devendra Banhart - Cripple crow
Belle and Sebastian - Write about love
The morning benders - Big echo

Appropriation: Repetition, copying or direct incorporation of an image (painting, photography,
etc ...) by another artist who is in a different context. It would alter the entire meaning entire of the piece and question the notions of originality and authenticity (according to Herber Read's art dictionary).

So.

Well. I discovered I was not coming back until this virtual space reinvented itself and as things don't change themselves, I decided I had to make a little intervention, so I changed the colour palette a little and added a couple of new graphics. Hope you like it.

Did all the things I could have done.

Spent a couple of weeks in Ecuador (Guayaquil, Montañitas, Isla la Plata, Quito, Mindo, Baños & Cuenca) and now it feels good to be in Lima. Sometimes you have to leave stuff behind you to realize you are cool with them. Leaving my city so I could miss it it's something I've been doing lately. Now, I'm ready again to enjoy 2011. It's funny that, so far in my life, odd numberes years have been for sowing, while evens for reaping. Any way, no matter the rule keeps working or not for this 2011, I am ready for living every day intensevely. Ready to live and not just "survive".
