Me encanta el concepto publicitario que ha adoptado Dove para sus campañas, es muy inspirador y me tiene pensando. El spot que ven abajo es genial, sugiero que lo vean. En determinado momento, te pregunta: ¿cuándo fue que dejaste de sentirte linda? y te muestra actitudes de niñas frente a cámaras, desinteresadas por quién verá las tomas en el futuro y que dirá al respecto, sin idea de que algún día serán adultas y el material quedará principalmente para el recuerdo de lo que fue en algún momento su máxima expresión de sinceridad: su niñez, su juventud. He estado pensando en que ser joven es una decisión y envejecer no implica dejar de ser joven realmente. Raisa en 40 años es solo la Raisa del futuro. Mujeres como Susan Sarandon y Meryl Streep han asumido sus "yo" del futuro sin miedo y sin miles de cirugías.
I love the concept Dove is working in its campaigns. It's very inspiring and keeps me thinking about a million things. Specially when the girls appear on screen and they pose in front of the cameras, not worried about in whose hands that material will end up and what will people say about them, with no idea of how this video will someday remain as proof the most honest period of their lives. I've been thinking a lot about "aging" and how it doesn't have anything to do with being "young", me in 40 years it's only me in the futuro, nothing else than that. Also, has made think on how women like Susan Sarandon and Meryl Streep have asumed their "future themselves" with no fear.
A raíz de lo anterior, esta semana estuve recopilando imágenes que generen eso en mí, que inspiren juventud, que inspiren vida y llegué a las siguientes imágenes y cuestionamientos, sobre todo relacionados al mundo laboral, porque a veces siento que se piensa que es normal que te quite libertad y que cuando no lo hace, es porque no estás haciendo suficientes méritos (a la gente le encanta decir lo ocupada que está, es casi sinónimo de éxito) y también porque existe tooooodo un rollo de código de vestimenta (imagínense! si la ropa es una de las formas que tenemos para ser creativos cada día!), cuando en realidad, el trabajo es parte de nuestras vidas y debe ser disfrutado como cualquier otra actividad.
El mercado laboral está cambiado (especialmente en el rubro donde me desempeño), pero no tan rápido como me gustaría en términos del "cómo lucir", pues existe un código de vestimenta implícito que el entorno se esfuerza en hacerte notar (Seguro muchos han oído lo siguiente: "Mañana viene fulanito de tal, vente arregladito/a", "¿crees que podrías ocultar el tatuaje con alguna joya?). Me acordé que hace algunos años en Buenos Aires, era común ver chicos que trabajaban en bancos, con piercings o tatuajes, sin que ello implicara un menosprecio de su experticia por parte del resto de ciudadanos. Eso aquí en Lima no es muy común. Incluso hay gente que te dice qué usar para la oficina, qué usar para verte más flaco/a, alto/a, etcetcetc. Nadie te dice que confíes en ti mismo, en tu criterio, que desarrolles un estilo propio luego de que pruebes varias opciones y elijas con lo que te sientes más cómodo (es tan sencillo y sincero decir eso que todos los asesores se quedarían sin trabajo).
However, in the aftermath of the previous mix of ideas, I started to gather a file of pictures that express youth, life and I came to the next selection and a few questionings, mainly related to the "professional life". I chose that topic, because it's usually thought that it's normal when you feel your job takes time away from you, when is a part of your life that should be enjoyed, but it's not your whole life. Also, people think that when it doesn't take all of your time, you're not doing it right (seriously, people love to say "Hey, I'm super busy"). Also, because there are many rules at work that apparently restraint ourselves. For example,"dressing rules". The job markets are fortunately changing (specially in the field I work in), but not as fast they should. I nremember in Buenos Aires it would be perfectly normal to see a man working in a Bank showing his tattoos and piercings, nobody would disguise his work because of that. Here in Lima, most of us know that is not common to be accepted, people will tell you to take off your piercings and hide your tattoos.
There are even blogs that keep telling you what to wear in order to look thinner, taller, etc. Nobody simply tells you to trust your instincts while developing your own style. It's so simple and genuine to say that, that most advisers would end up with no jobs.

Cuestionamiento #1: ¿Por qué el outfit de oficina debe ser totalmente ajeno a lo que somos en lo cotidiano? Sea cual sea el rubro en el que trabajemos, debe haber opciones de seguir sintiéndonos cómodas y nosotras mismas.
Questioning #1: Why the office look had to be so different from your daily style? There are always options for keeping being ourselves and feeling comfortable.

Questioning #2: Why straighten our hair is a daily must? or even worse: why a ponytail should always be the best morning solution? why looking serious, overdone when we can choose looking the way we like? A couple days ago I saw a beautiful lady with lilac hair and didn't look like a goth lolita.
Cuestionamiento #3: ¿Por qué lo minimalista siempre debe ser mejor? A veces, nos puede parecer lo más genial del mundo ser minimal y otros días, queremos ponernos las cosas que más nos gustan todas juntas.
Questioning #3: Why the minimal, the better? Of course sometimes we all feel like being minimal, but it's ok to put on everything we like at the same time too. As long as it makes us happy, it's ok.

Cuestionamiento #4 (y aquí es donde la cosa se pone más personal): ¿Por qué las oficinas deben ser espacios tan aburridos y absorventes que no te permiten crear ni innovar? El ambiente influye. Pegar imágenes, ordenar las cosas por temas y colores ayuda a la inspiración (eso hasta que encontremos un trabajo en alguna de estas oficinas), ¿te dijeron que la gente creativa nace así? Nada más falso, la creatividad se entrena, con referentes, curiosidad, experimentación y motivación (lean la frase de Jim Jarmusch de la barra del costado).
Questioning #4 (and here's when it starts getting personal): Why offices are such boring and uninspiring spaces? Ambient matters when creating. Covering walls with pictures and colors might be a good start (that, until we find a job in any of these offices). Someone told you creative people was born like that? False. You can train creativity.
Cuestionamiento #5: ¿Por qué la persona que hace más horas de trabajo es considerada necesariamente la mejor o la más productiva? Nada que ver. Hay vida más allá de la vida laboral y debemos luchar porque nuestras vidas sean complejas (ojo: no es lo mismo que complicadas), con proyectos propios, días interesantes y sobre todo: nuestras (sin que ello implique algún tipo de egocentrismo, me refiero más a que nosotros elegimos con quiénes y con qué causas compartir nuestro tiempo).
Questioning #5: Why people who stay more hours at work is considered the best or most productive? Not at all. There's life beyond work and is our duty to make hour lives complex (which is not the same as "complicated"), full of projetcs of our own, interesting days and most important: It's important that our lives are truly ours, in terms of choosing with whom we want to share our time and with which causes we want to get involved.
