Nerdy, pero trendy: Julian Louier FW09

After his successful summer/spring collection I couldn't expect any less of the fall one. These are my favourite looks from it. The tailored jacket from the third model is pretty rad, wonder if we'll see any socialite, model or celebrity wearing one of those some time soon.

Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. Propongo la idea del vestir como una práctica corporal contextuada a modo de marco teórico y metodológico para comprender la compleja relación dinámica entre el cuerpo, la ropa y la cultura. Este marco reconoce que los cuerpos están constituidos socialmente, que están siempre ubicados en la cultura y que el resultado de las prácticas individuales dirigidas al cuerpo, es decir, la «vestimenta», es el resultado de «vestirse» o de «estar vistiéndose». Examinar las influencias estructurales sobre el cuerpo vestido requiere tener en cuenta las restricciones históricas y sociales del mismo, limitaciones que influyen sobre el acto de «vestirse» en un momento dado" (Joanne Entwistle).
